TULSA -- Police have arrested a man after he allegedly struck three people with his pickup in downtown Tulsa Monday, killing one.
The crash happened at 6:16 a.m. in the 200 block of North Cheyenne. Police say a pickup truck struck three people who were sleeping underneath the I-244 bridge.
A 46-year-old man died in the crash. A 49-year-old woman suffered severe injuries in the crash but is in stable condition. The third victim was not taken to the hospital.
Investigators believe the crash was intentional.
"The pickup truck actually circled the block a couple of times before coming back and then driving over the curve and driving down the sidewalk to run over these individuals," said Sgt. Steven Florea from the Tulsa Police Department.
Officials said the vehicle that struck the victims was a white, mid 1980s to mid 1990s regular cab Toyota or Nissan pickup.
Homicide investigators and members of the Tulsa Police Department's Gilcrease Division continue to investigate the crash. Officials ask anyone with information about the incident to contact police.
