BARLTESVILLE, Okla. – The body of a teen reported missing on Saturday was located near the Bartlesville High School Monday morning, says authorities.

Bartlesville police say they found the body of 15-year-old Drake Yancey in a wooded area northeast of the high school. Around midnight on Friday, Virgina Holt said her great grandson never came home from school.

“He’d get in trouble at school and he’d go walking, but he was always home at night,” said Holt.

Search crews and community members began searching for Khrislyn Robinett’s son over the weekend.

“Daybreak hits and he’s still not around, it’s never happened like that before so it was very scary for us,” said Yancey’s mother Khrislyn Robinett

Video obtained by police from the high school on Monday led them to search the wooded area for Drake Yancey, reports Bartlesville police.

“It’s a heart blow to my heart. I’ve searched for him for days,” said Robinett.

Bartlesville police say at this time they do not suspect foul play and are investigating the death as a “death investigation” rather than a homicide. The State Medical Examiner’s Office has been notified and are joining the investigation.

“He was walking by himself. Kind of in a northeast direction towards a wooded area just off the parking lot,” said Bartlesville Police Department PIO Jay Hastings.

Robinett is devastated over her loss, but she said Drake’s kind heart and love for his family lives on.

“I love my son no matter what happened,” said Robinett.
