BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - Officials confirmed Sunday that a student at Liberty Elementary school was diagnosed with Clostridium difficile.

The risk of transmission is small according to officials.

School officials say they are taking the necessary precautions to keep other students safe. The school is also working with the local health department to help ensure safety.

Crews worked to clean the gym, cafeteria, classrooms and hallways. As a precaution, school officials will move those who were in the classroom with the infected student to the media center.

Symptoms of CDI include diarrhea, fever, loss of appetite, nausea, abdominal pain or tenderness and abdominal cramping.
