CREEK COUNTY – For the past two days, first responders have been searching for 18 year-old David Lane Howard in a heavily wooded area in Silver City.
Creek County Sheriff officials said Howard was swimming in Buckeye Creek with two friends in the creek when he went missing. They said they separated on the trail, and his friends weren’t able to find him. Search crews are now using dogs, drones and tracking footsteps to find Howard. They said Howard stands 5’8 weighs 180 to 190 pounds and has a skull tattoo on his leg. Officials said they do not suspect foul play. Authorities still consider this a search and rescue.
“We’re under the assumption, or we’re under the hope that maybe he walked out and somebody picked him up,” said Creek County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Les Vaughn.
If crews don’t find Howard before dark, they’ll resume searching in the morning. If you see Howard contact the Creek County Sheriff’s Office. (918) 227-6374.
