TULSA - The daughter of Tulsa Police officer Betty Shelby thanked friends, family and supporters while describing her mother as having a "heart of gold."
The adult daughter of the officer accused of fatally shooting Terence Crutcher in September, spoke for just under three minutes outside the Tulsa County Courthouse prior to her mother's preliminary hearing.
Amber talked about who her mom is and said that she wouldn't speak about the case.
"Unfortunately, she has already been tried in the court of public opinion," Amber said of her mother, Betty.

Amber described her as being a wife, mother and grandmother "with a heart of gold."
She said officer Shelby became a police officer because she wanted to make a difference in the community.
"On September 16, 2016, my mother did not go to work intending to harm someone," said Amber. "The same as any other day she's worked throughout her life."
Betty Shelby faces a charge of first degree manslaughter in the death of Terence Crutcher on Sept. 16.
Amber said her mother is a woman of character and integrity while being "beautiful inside and out."
Shelby's preliminary hearing was scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday.
