TULSA – Tulsa police have made an arrest in a double homicide at north Tulsa park earlier this week.

Police say Jacky Cardell Mayfield, 27, is the prime suspect in the murders of 26-year-old Markey Goff and 31-year-old Meshawna Jones.

Investigators arrested Mayfield at the Comanche Park Apartments in the 3600 block of N. Quaker on Friday afternoon. Police brought in Mayfield around 2:45 p.m. Friday afternoon. He was later booked into the Tulsa County Jail Friday night around 9 p.m.

Authorities say a 5-year-old boy led a bystander to a black SUV saying his mother was hurt Tuesday morning. The vehicle was parked at Chamberlain Park near the 4900 block of N. Frankfort Ave. Inside the SUV, investigators found the bodies of Markey Goff, 26, and Meshawna Jones, 31, with fatal gunshot wounds.

Police also found an infant unharmed in the vehicle with the bodies. Investigators say Jones was the mother of both children.

Mayfield now faces two counts of first-degree murder. Police believe the incident may have stemmed from drugs or robbery.
