TULSA - The driver of a semi truck loaded with 39,000 pounds of meat veered off the highway, struck a tree and overturned early Sunday morning in west Tulsa, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.
Troopers say the driver wasn't speeding, but wet road conditions may have played a part in the accident. The driver was transported to a local hospital, where his condition was considered good to fair, according to EMSA officials.
The accident occurred at about 3:45 a.m. where Interstate 244 and I-44 intersect near south of Red Fork on the way to Sapulpa. Road crews had the highway blocked but it has reopened, troopers say.
