TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- The hearing for a former Tulsa police officer accused in the off-duty fatal shooting of his daughter's boyfriend has been rescheduled.
Attorneys for Shannon James Kepler have asked the district judge presiding over the case to recuse herself, but she has denied that appeal.

Kepler had been scheduled to go on trial in January for the 2014 death of 19-year-old Jeremey Lake, but the trial was delayed while Kepler's attorney asked for a new judge.

Kepler has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and two counts of shooting with intent to kill. Kepler later retired from the police force.
Authorities allege Kepler shot Lake after Lake introduced himself as Lisa Kepler's boyfriend. The hearing is now set for May 16th.
