Gov. Fallin declares state of emergency in Okla.

Posted

As flooding and a wintry storm continue to impact Oklahoma, Governor Mary Fallin declared a state of emergency Sunday for all 77 counties for the next 30 days.

Under the executive order, state agencies will be able to make emergency purchases to help with disaster relief and preparedness. It will also help facilitate additional mutual aid, including transportation of oversized vehicles carrying utility poles to the affected areas.

According to a news release, nearly 100,000 homes were still without power Sunday afternoon due to freezing rain, ice and sleet that started Thursday.
