An Owasso family was heading home from church when their vehicle was hit head-on.
Authorities say Mendy, Roland and their two children, six-year-old Harley Erich and four-year-old Sofie died instantly after their car was struck and spun into oncoming traffic.
"They had been at church that morning and just like any Sunday morning for her, and they were headed home when their car was hit and spun into oncoming traffic," said Chelsey Griffin, cousin of Mendy.
The driver, Ronald Cooper, was under the influence of prescription pills, say authorities; he was later arrested.
Loved ones describe the Sedlmeier family as being full of life.
"They loved life and they lived it to the fullest. They loved being together," said Chelsey Griffin.
Mendy, 42, was a missionary and her husband Roland was a pilot. Mendy grew up in Green Country and later moved to the Houston area to pursue missionary work.
Tuesday, the doctor of Cooper, Rezik Saqer, was also arrested. Saqer is charged with illegally providing medication to his patient, Ronald Cooper.
"This has been an unimaginable loss for our entire family. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be personally affected," said Griffin.
Griffin hopes this tragedy brings to light the dangers of driving while under the influence of pills as she remembers her dear friend.
"Amazing. One of the nicest people. One of the most selfless people most giving people," said Griffin.
The funeral service will be held her at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in downtown Tulsa.
