TULSA - While tending to his baby in the pediatric intensive care unit, and being treated for his own injuries, a man was arrested after stealing a purse in the hospital.

Joshua David Grant Hunt, 31, was arrested for grand larceny Wednesday night at St. Francis Hospital.

"The father of the victim [the baby] apparently took a purse from another family that was in the ICU, so he was arrested also last night for grand larceny, and knowingly concealing stolen property,” said Jeanne Mackenzie of the Tulsa Police Department.

According to police, security video showed Hunt taking a purse and going through it in an elevator. Hunt was detained after the victim's son found his mother's phone in Hunt's back pocket. Hospital security found the victim's credit cards, drivers license and $126.03 that was in the purse on Hunt.

Hunt's 9-month-old boy was being treated at the hospital after being injured when the child's mother allegedly brought her 2-month-old baby along to participate in a home invasion Wednesday afternoon. Jordan Morrow, 20, and two other suspects raided Hunt's apartment.

The child was injured after one of the suspects threw a pipe through a window, hitting the 9-month-old, who was inside the apartment with Hunt.

"The baby was stable. But the baby’s still in critical condition. It’s a very serious head injury. Especially to a nine month old, so you know, situations like this… it could go either way,” said Mackenzie.

Hunt was being treated at the hospital for a contusion to his eye as a result of being assaulted during the home invasion.

Hunt was booked into the county jail early Thursday morning.

Morrow was arrested for first degree burglary, child neglect and assault with a deadly weapon. Police are still searching for the other two suspects.
