TULSA – The mother and grandfather responsible forfour children being left home alone when a fire broke out are officially being charged this week.
Krystal Penheiro and her father, Lee Snell, were arrested for child neglect last week after the four children in their custody were forced to flee from their home when a fire broke out.
Now, Penheiro and Snell are being charged with one count of child neglect each.
The children, ages ranging from one to ten, walked together to a nearby neighbor when the fire started.
One of the boys was around the age of five and, police say, he had to carry the youngest out of the home.
Later that day, when Penheiro and Snell returned, Penheiro told 2 Works for You that she left to get a paycheck and had her father drive. She went on to say this was the first time she left the children home alone.
