SKIATOOK, Okla. – Dive team members will resume their search Wednesday for the man who went missing in Skiatook Lake July 4 and is now believed to have drowned, according to troopers.

Troopers say that a 36-year-old Chance Humble was swimming in around 35 feet of water when he went under water and never resurfaced near an area dubbed Party Cove.

Side sonar and 360 sonar are being used to find Humble. Because the area is heavy with fishing lines and downed trees, the dive team says they could have complications with getting caught or cutting themselves out of the lines.

"The topography underwater is several shelves of cliff rock, and stuff like that. It goes down to deep dust pretty quick and there’s several ledges we’re having to search under," said OHP Dive Team Commander Lt. Jeff James.

Search and recovery efforts ended at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday.

OHP's marine enforcement division and dive team expect resume their search at daylight Wednesday.

OHP officials say Humble was not wearing a life jacket.
