Six people were hospitalized, and a 1-year-old dies, after an apartment fire in South Tulsa.
The Tulsa Fire Department responded to the Sand Dollar Apartments on 61st and Riverside around 2:15 a.m. on Friday.
When firefighters arrived, four apartments were fully engulfed, and five people were trapped inside an upstairs apartment after they stairway collapsed in the fire. Officials had to use a ladder to pull the victims out.
The five rescued and a man who got out of an apartment on his own were taken to the hospital. Three of them were taken in serious condition.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
