TULSA - Take a step back in time.
That was what folks did Wednesday afternoon as the owners of the house in the movie "The Outsiders" opened up the famous home's doors for a walk through.
Hip hop artist Danny Boy O'Connor bought the house last month with plans to renovate it and turn it into a museum about the movie.

O'Connor told us during our tour that he's a huge fan of "The Outsiders" author S.E. Hinton, and that he had to do something when he visited the house during a tour stop in Tulsa. He said when he purchased the house, it was in really bad shape, but now it won't face the wrecking ball.

One of the renovators pointed out that this window was missing a wood panel. He said the team was going to add one when they realized it was missing in the movie. So, to keep the room authentic, they are going to keep it the way it currently is.
The renovator, Zachary, also pointed out the wood panels in the wall at the front entrance. According to Zachary, Francis Coppola, the director, cut out that chunk of the wall to film a scene where one actor was running through and when they rebuilt it, it became different than the rest of the wall.
This couch from the movie is rumored to have been owned by neighbors in the area. According to the renovator, the people didn’t realize it was once sat on by such famous actors as Rob Lowe, so they threw it away.
According to Danny as per our Facebook Live, the man’s name in the pictures below is Jim and he worked on set of the movie and therefore was given the jacket pictured. Jim donated the jacket to be in the memorabilia part of the home.
