Before qualifying begins, a select few Chili Bowl drivers and owners met with the media to talk about the week's events at Expo Square.
"Winning the Chili Bowl, a one-race event, was bigger than winning the Indy Car Championship to me," said two-time champion Tony Stewart.
Stewart was just one of six who spoke Monday. The others include:
Rico Abreu - Defending Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Champion
Kyle Larson - VIROC Winner, 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year
Tony Stewart - Track Prep, two time Chili Bowl Champion, three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion
Emmett Hahn - Co-Founder of the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals
Sammy Swindell - Five time Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Champion
