The investigation is still ongoing but at this time police believe that the man and woman have children together and there is a "history of domestic abuse" between them.
Early evidence from police shows that the man was brought to the home by another person before the shooting.
Police say two handguns were recovered from the room where the man was fatally shot.
Witnesses are still being interviewed; at least two adults and five children were at home during the shooting.
Police are also questioning the female shooting suspect.
