Wagoner County officially elected Chris Elliott for sheriff Friday evening.

Elliot  secured his seat with three out of seven provisional votes.

Wagoner County residents, hope electing Elliott as their new sheriff puts an end to all of the county's problems.

2 Works For You investigators uncovered scandal after scandal over the last year, breaking stories all the way up until former sheriff Bob Colbert was indicted on charges of bribery, extortion and conspiracy.

When Colbert suspended himself with pay, he left behind a broken department. Today, Sheriff-Elect Chris Elliott hopes to repair it.

"What they can expect is a sheriff that is transparent, and a sheriff that is going to be accessible by the community," Elliott said. "They're going to see a sheriff that runs his day-to-day operations based on honesty and integrity"

These changes could go into effect as early as next week. Elliott doesn't have an official time to be sworn into office, however he is told it could be at any moment.

Sheriff candidate, Shannon Clark  conceded to Elliott's victory. He made a quick phone call to Elliott after the results, congratulating him on the win.

"Thank you, to all the people that have put that trust in me, to all my supporters that the showed up night after night in hundred degree heat, pounded the neighborhoods holding signs," Elliott said. "They put their family life on hold because of their faith and trust... they wanted me as sheriff."

Elliott is pleased to join the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office, and said he will continue to bring loyalty and honesty to the law enforcement profession.
