Tulsa Public Schools announced a proposal to make additional job cuts Wednesday night.

In an informational meeting, the district proposed a plan that includes not filling 142 teaching position. The school board discussed saving money through attrition. This would significantly increase classroom sizes.

The board will vote on this Monday.

The proposal to change bell times and trim athletic programs was approved Wednesday. A spokesperson for the district says changing hours will save $1.2 million.

The district is also expecting to save $210,000 from athletic cuts. They will combine 7th and 8th grade teams and limit team travel.
