Tulsa State Fair on a budget

Posted

Enjoying the 11 days of Awesome at the Tulsa State Fair can quickly become expensive. But there are several ways to save money with free entertainment, or deals on food, the midway and admission.

As you walk through the gates, on Tuesday Oct. 6, admission is only $5 for Alltech's Family Fest. Full-price adult admission is usually $10. Children under the age of five are free. Seniors, age 62-years or older, are free until 2 p.m.

Before you even get to the gates you might think about stopping at one of several Tulsa area businesses.

There you can grab a coupon for discounted rides and admission. Coupons from Mazzio's will be accepted on Monday, Oct. 5. Arby's coupons will be accepted on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Mattress Firm coupons will be accepted on Sunday, Oct. 11.

With the coupons, you spend $25 and receive a ride wristband. The wristband gets you into the fair and then you can ride unlimited rides, except extreme rides.

When it's time to eat at the fair, you might first head to one of the six Howdy Huts at the fairgrounds. There you can purchase a Dizzy Deals coupon book for $5.

The coupon books hold over $600 worth of savings, with coupons for cash off on food items, buy-one-get-one specials or several other deals.

There are also free entertainment options at the fair, so your family can have a good time without spending more money than you want.

In the Super Duty Exhibit Hall you can find the free Great American Petting Zoo. There is also a list of free daily attractions you can find here: Free daily Tulsa State Fair attractions.

Walking around the fair, several vendors also have free items or products for you to pick up.

On Friday the fair handed out free 2015 limited edition Tulsa State Fair pins to the first 4,000 guests. On Thursday, Oct. 8 the first 4,000 guests will receive a free 2015 Tulsa State Fair T-shirt compliments of Coca Cola.

The Tulsa State Fair will also announce a "Surprise Savings Saturday" deal for Saturday, Oct. 10. The announcement will be released on Oct. 8.
