April marks the opening month for the 2016 minor league baseball season and organizations all across the country are preparing to promote their seasons with ballpark attractions.
The Tulsa Drillers will open up at home against the Corpus Christie Hooks on Thursday, April 14 and the ONEOK food and beverage staff created a new menu this season in order help fans enjoy nontraditional food items.
Cody Malone, Head Chef, helped implement many of the menu changes and says great food is a very important part of attracting more people to attend regular season games.
“Every year it's going to be quality items for a quality price for our guest, but you always want that wow factor. You want the next biggest and best thing there is,” Malone said.
Although Malone and his staff have had an opportunity to showcase the new menu due to a early home games by the Tulsa Roughnecks, the expectation is to sell a majority of the new items at Drillers games.
Nearly 8,000 people are projected to attend the Drillers home opener and the staff is ready to meet the high demand of hungry fans.
Below are new items the ONEOK food and beverage staff will sell this upcoming season.
