Following the release of a recording in which Donald Trump makes crude comments about women, Governor Mary Fallin issued a statement.

In the statement released Sunday, Fallin says both Trump and Clinton are "very flawed and have made mistakes." Fallin goes on to say Trump's comments about women "were totally unacceptable."

Read the full statement below.

"Our country is in decline. The American people are profoundly concerned and hurt with the direction this Presidential race has taken.

The American people need to hear how we can create a hopeful future. I hope the presidential debate tonight will present the issues that are of concern to the American people: jobs, the economy, trade, keeping our nation safe, defeating ISIS, securing our borders, fixing the disastrous rising costs of our health care system, protecting our constitution and preserving freedom.

Both of our nation's Presidential candidates are very flawed and have made mistakes. I am disappointed and offended by the comments made by Mr Trump 11 years ago. His comments about women were totally unacceptable.

I hope he uses this debate to show his sincerity with his earlier apology and takes the opportunity to demonstrate he has the character and leadership skills to be President.

In the end, I trust the American people to make the right decision. America is still the greatest nation in the world. United we stand, but divided we will fall. May God heal our land."
