TULSA - After a power outage that affected more than 10,000 people in Tulsa and Broken Arrow early Thursday evening, the number of customers without power by 7:30 p.m. was around 500.
The outage not only left thousands without electricity, but it affected traffic flow as well. The Broken Arrow Police Department reported several intersections in the downtown area and east Broken Arrow were without traffic signals due to the outage.
City crews worked diligently to get stop signs placed at these locations. Motorists were encouraged to avoid the area or use extreme caution navigating intersections without power.
PSO said a transmission line was down in the area that led to no power feeding from a substation.
