TULSA, Okla. — 12&12 Rehabilitation Center works every day to help people battling substance abuse and addiction.

In any given day, 200 people will pass through their doors with only the few items they can carry.

During the organization’s awareness day on 12-12, they’re accepting donations as well as items like clothes and basic necessities.

The center has been offering detox services to those with substance abuse or drug addiction since 1985, giving people the option of staying from 5-7 days or up to 6 months through transitional living.

They have certified staff who are there to help people going through the programs, giving them the tools they need to stay sober.

Reba Harvey was looking for a safe place to get away from the lifestyle she was living when she went through the program in 2017.

She stayed for 30 days.

“I don’t think I could have come across the resources on my own without the case managers here," said Harvey. "There was some other trauma related instances that I don’t think I could have, you know, dealt with on my own without the counselors.”

Harvey says she wants others to know it’s okay to accept help and that it’s achievable to get sober by taking it one day at a time.

If you would like to make a donation, you can just drop the items off at 12&12.
