GRAND LAKE, Okla.- The Grand River Authority officials have reported that a 17-year-old male from Kansas drowned in Grand Lake Saturday evening.
According to GRDA, the teen was swimming with friends in the Woodland Shores area of the lake when he began to struggle in the waters.
They say he called for help and his friends tried to assist him, but they were not able to keep him from going under.
Officials say with the help of other witnesses they were able to get him out and perform CPR, but he could not be revived.
They say no drugs or alcohol nor foul play is suspected and the body has been turned over the State's Medical examiner.
No other information has been released.
