OKMULGEE, Okla. — A family is mourning after a weekend party near Okmulgee ended with an 18-year-old girl being shot and killed.
Police said during the late hours of Sept. 26th, around 10 people were at a party near Skyline Drive and Old Morris Highway.
One of the party goers, 19-year-old Marcus Patterson, was playing with a gun, police said.
Police said 18-year-old Autumn Cannady was shot in the head. Police are unsure if the shooting is an accident or not. Cannady later died at the hospital.
Police said alcohol was involved in the incident.
Cannady's family set up a gofundme asking for prayers and donations for the funeral. Cannady's family lives in New Mexico and are asking for help in bringing her home and laid to rest in the state.

Police arrested Patterson on second degree murder charges.
