The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 21-year-old Bartlesville man whose body was found just outside of town.
Friends are pleading for anyone with information to come forward.
“There's just so many unanswered questions, even in my head. I'm just like, he didn't seem like that bad of a guy,” said friend Quartlan Phillips.
Phillips said she spoke with Kyler Holeman on Sunday, not knowing it would be the last time.
“It was only one text message saying 'hey what's up,'” she said.
Friday morning, her mother gave her the news.
“She said, you know that body that they found?' I said ‘yeah’ and she said it was Kyler. I had to make sure what she was saying and she said three times and I said you're kidding,” Phillips said.
Holeman was found not far from where friends say he lived.
The OSBI is helping investigators, who won't release many details. Undersheriff Steve Johnson says it's tough to see so many questions surrounding someone so young.
“You begin to think about the victim. You begin to think about the victim's family, those that loved him and you have concern about that,” said Johnson.
Now deputies and loved ones are searching for anyone with information that could help solve the mystery of Holeman's death.
“He was very caring, he'd do just about anything for anybody,” said Phillips. “I think that it's important for his family and his friends to know what happened.”
Holeman's body has been sent to the state’s medical examiner.
They're asking anyone with information to call the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
