A driver led officers on a chase that got up to 120mph, then crashed in a ditch

OWASSO, Okla. - After leading four agencies on a chase across busy highways and three cities, the driver ran off a ditch and escaped into a wooded area.

Officials say the driver crashed the car just south of E. 66th St. N. and 131st E. Ave. and then took off on foot.

Sand Springs Police say it all started at the city Walmart when an officer ran the driver's tags that didn't match the car. The officer tried to pull the car over, but the driver sped away.

The chase went through Sand Springs, Tulsa and Owasso highways for more than 24 miles. Deputies from the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers also joined in the pursuit that got up to 120 miles per hour.

Owasso's K-9 helped in the search after the suspect crashed, but eventually lost track in the woods.

The search for the suspect is ongoing.
