MCALESTER, Okla. - Several suspects were taken into custody after trying to deliver contraband into an Oklahoma prison.
During an investigation, the District 18 Task Force learned that an inmate at a state prison was using a cell phone to organize the delivery of 25 pounds of tobacco, two pounds of smokeless tobacco, and 32 cell phones.
Hartshorne police, as well as agents from the task force learned of the conspiracy after a burglary at a residence in the town.
Police say they followed the vehicle seen leaving the residence, and pulled over the suspects.
During the stop, officers say they also located about four pounds of marijuana along with other contraband.
Brandon Morgan and Rynesha Gatewood were arrested on several charges, including conspiracy to deliver contraband to a state penal institution, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
