TULSA, Okla — According to the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to an area near old highway 51 and the Arkansas River Friday evening to search for a missing juvenile.

TCSO says a man was riding a four-wheeler when his two sons were playing in the water.

The man noticed they were in deep water and he went to save them.

He was able to rescue his 7-year-old child but the younger son, Bentley, was swept away by the river.

First responders from multiple agencies launched search parties on land and by boat.

The teams were assisted by a drone and the Tulsa Police Department helicopter.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol recovered the body of Bentley about 1/3 of a mile from his last known location.

TSCO urges adults to be within arms reach of their children anytime they are near a body of water.
