BAPD: Arvest bank robbery suspect dead, money recovered

BROKEN ARROW — Broken Arrow police say the suspect in the Arvest Bank robbery that took place on Tuesday is dead and the money has been recovered.

Police say the suspect was a 23-year-old man who reportedly committed suicide.

During the investigation, police recovered the money that was stolen.

Okmulgee County Sheriff's Department and the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the death of the suspect.

On Dec. 31, Broken Arrow police responded to a report of a bank robbery at Arvest Bank near West Kenosha Street and South 145th East Avenue on Tuesday.

Police say the suspect entered the bank, implied he had a weapon and then left with an undetermined amount of money.

Police described the suspect as being a white man in his 30's who had dark hair and a dark beard, and was wearing glasses and dark clothing.
