Black History Month: Honoring Ellis W. Woods

Posted
and last updated

Today in Green Country's black history, we highlight Ellis W. Woods.

He was the first principal of Booker T. Washington High School where he served for 30 years.

Booker T. has been known for producing hundreds of successful students since it opened more than 100-years ago.

Many students attribute their success to the foundations that Woods built at the school.

There is a memorial in his honor on the OSU Tulsa campus.
