Oklahoma native and country music superstar Blake Shelton will be the recipient of a country music humanitarian award this year after his efforts to provide treatment to sick and injured children in his home state.

Blake Shelton will receive the Country Radio Seminar Artist Humanitarian award. Past recipients include Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood and more.

In 2018, Shelton established a pediatric cancer research program in Oklahoma in honor of his cousin, Aspen Van Horn, who was diagnosed with cancer at five months old.

In 2016, Shelton donated $600,000 to Children's Hospital Foundation during a concert in Oklahoma City.

“We are thrilled that Blake is receiving this prestigious award for his dedication to the children of Oklahoma and other charities across the nation,” said Kathy McCracken, Executive Director for Children’s Hospital Foundation. “We are honored to have his support and will continue to ensure Oklahoma’s children battling cancer will receive the best care possible without leaving the state.”
