BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — The city of Broken Arrow is advising voluntary evacuations for residents in the floodplain areas.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers increased the release rate from Keystone Dam to 215,000 cubic feet per second by 2 p.m., substantially increasing the flooding risk for the extremely southern portions of Broken Arrow.

Broken Arrow Police began knocking on affected residents’ doors at noon today - south of Jasper (131st) Street between Garnett and 23rd Street (County Line Road) - and will do so again in the early evening, to notify them of the risk.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to gather a multi-day supply of clothing, food, medications and pets.

To see if your home is in a potential flood zone, contact the One Stop Division at 918-259-8333 or online here.
