Chandler park slated for major makeover

Posted

A multi-million dollar makeover is in the works for one of Tulsa's oldest parks.

Tulsa County is working to create a new master plan for Chandler park. Right now, the plan is set to improve baseball fields, create hiking paths through the woods and replace the swimming pool.

But the biggest change, would be reopening the lower level of the park. It’s been closed for years due to damage caused by a major ice storm.

“I love that part of the park,” Commissioner Karen Keith said. “There are some incredible views of the city of Tulsa, so we would like to get that reopened.”

Chandler is one of five parks the county is trying to rejuvenate with vision funds.

If approved, they will receive $14 million for various projects.
