Another shelter participating in the event is Tulsa Animal Welfare.

Adult dogs, sweet puppies, and even cute bunnies are up for adoption. The staff at Tulsa Animal Welfare is encouraging people to adopt since there could be dozens even hundreds of animals at the shelter at one time.

Due to COVID-19, the shelter is asking people to call first to make an appointment prior to visiting the animal in person.

2 Works for You's Gitzel Puente sat down with one local couple who shared their benefits of adopting and fostering pets.

Tony and Jason Orr started our fostering before they decided to take an animal home.

Once you take care of them for a little while, you see them going off to a better life and everything like that. It just gives you a sense of accomplishment.

Clear the Shelters pet adoption event is on Saturday, August 22 at Dave's RV. Last year, we helped 280 pets find new forever homes in Tulsa County!
