JENKS, Okla. — Horace Wellons Jr. says his two sons were coached by Allan Trimble from their freshman to their senior year of High School.

He says they learned more than just football.

"He was a big help. A big influence, as a matter of fact they often brought home some value that he taught them. How football influences their life, even today," Wellons said.

Wellons described Trimble as an active coach, and was sad to hear how illness took that from him.

"It brought tears to our eyes," Wellons said.

"He taught every person around him, not just the athletes about hope and kindness, and being sincere in everything that they did," Wellons said.

He's proud of the legacy Trimble leaves behind.

"The one thing that lays pretty heavy on my heart about Allan is that he was so positive all the way to the end. He was such a huge asset to Jenks and to his team," Rongey said.

"Every evening after school you could see the team practicing. You hear his voice on the field," Wellons said.

The loss of that voice and spirit is devastating for the Jenks community.

"I can't even imagine what his family is going through right now with his loss. He's just a huge leader in this community," Wellons said.

Our deepest sympathies for the Trimble family while they mourn the loss of their loved one.
