MCALESTER, Okla. — Brian West and Dustin Parker started Rover Taxi in September.

Since then, they grew close, and became more like family.

"He would always come through the door with a smile, and he would just brighten up the room instantly," West said.

When they started their business, Dustin jumped right in.

"It's crazy, his attitude his demeanor, he always wanted to do more better to go that extra mile," West said. "He had a lot of potential. I saw more potential in him then i saw in myself."

But in the wee hours of new years day, two police officers came to West's door with the news.

"I think I wouldn't wish this on anybody," West said. "Like I said, we are a family down here, this is painful for everybody here."

West and others have raised more than $30,000 for Dustin's wife and four kids.

"There is no amount of money that can make this right," West said. "But we can make it easier so she doesn't have to worry about those things. That's the best we can do."

Valerie Wilson says she was also close to Dustin. Wilson hopes whoever killed him will be brought to justice soon.

"Dustin was the most generous and loving person i could've ever met," Wilson said. "He would've given anyone his time, his love, the shirt off his back. He would've given anything to anyone he was just so young, happy and bright and just full of life."

Dustin's wife Regina sent use a statement:

"Dustin was such an amazing and special person. He was incredibly generous, kind, intelligent, and so empathetic. He had so many things that he wanted to do and achieve in his life. He was everyone’s shoulder to cry on and the best listener. He wanted to help everyone. Everyone always talks about his brilliant, contagious smile and positive attitude that brightened the room, no matter the surroundings. I have always known how special he was, but I had no idea of all the lives that he touched and I am so grateful for all the love and support I have received. I know if I tried to thank everyone I would forget someone, but I want everyone to know how incredibly thankful I am for the support from not only our family and friends, but also the community as a whole."
