TULSA — Tulsa Community College officials said they've received a facilities rental request for an event that possibly would feature controversial commentator Milo Yiannopoulos.

School officials said they received a facilities rental request from Transparency for Oklahomans, who would like to use TCC's Southeast Campus' Performing Arts Center for Education.

The event might feature Yiannopoulos, who is the former editor of Breitbart.

In a statement, TCC officials said they "will be working with the third-party as per our policy and procedures but do not have confirmed details."

"This event is not supported by TCC and is privately organized," TCC officials said in a statement. "While we may not agree with the content of the speakers expected to attend, as a state entity, TCC must follow the law under the First Amendment for the free expression of speech."

Last year, Yiannopoulos was scheduled to speak at UC Berkeley, but he canceled it due to protests erupting into violence.
