MILFAY, Okla. -- A small community is shaken up after over ten neighbors said their cars were broken into over the weekend.

It was caught on camera, at least two people lurking in Milfay resident Kim Stevens's yard allegedly stealing money out of her car.

"Somebody had got into it, it just looked like a tornado had been through it," said Stevens.

She's not the only one. Dava Harrington, another Milfay neighbor, feels violated with her truck broken into also on Saturday night.

"You got in my stuff, that was my stuff," said Harrington.

After talking to other neighbors, the numbers began to pile up.

"Probably 12," said Stevens.

Thousands in cash...

"About $3,000 total in the town and that’s a lot for us," said Stevens.

Plus hunting knives, a pistol, and rifles.

"Those guns are out there in idiots' hands," said Stevens.

While a majority of the vehicles broken into were not locked, others had windows smashed open to gain access inside.

"They busted out the elderly ladies window and they stole $500 out of her car," said Stevens.

Neighbors are now on high alert.

"Any little car we see its like…what is that," said Stevens.

They're saying the people who did this stole more than property, they took their sense of security.

"They’re not hurting you physically but mentally the anxiety level is horrid," said Harrington.

Stevens filed a report to the Creek County Sheriff's Office hoping to bring the community some justice.
