Dixie Chicks member adopts puppy from Route 66 Pet Rescue just before BOK Center concert

TULSA – As the Dixie Chicks prepared to sing some of their hits like “Goodbye Earl,” one of the members also managed to say “hello” to a new member of her family and adopted a puppy.

The BOK Center says the trio of country pop music stars are passionate advocates of animal rights so they worked alongside SMG management to coordinate having a spot in front of the event center for Route 66 Pet Rescue.

While fans were given the chance to adopt a new pet outside the event center, BOK staffers brought several puppies to the Dixie Chicks for some pre-show fun.

What the ladies didn’t expect, however, was that one of their own would take one of the available puppies home.

Emily Robinson reportedly fell in love and quickly made a Brindle mix puppy the newest member of her family.
