TULSA, Okla. — It's New Year's Eve tonight and local police are cracking down on drunk drivers.
Police are setting up DUI checkpoints in downtown Tulsa to make sure drivers make it safely home.
It's going to be a group effort with 10 agencies setting up checkpoints in both Tulsa and Creek counties to prevent people from hopping in their vehicles after drinking too much.
The checkpoints will start around 9 p.m. Monday and run until about 2 a.m. Tuesday.
After 34 years, AAA has decided to end it's "Tipsy Tow" program because so many people use ride sharing, so the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office is offering $10 Uber coupons.

If you live in Bartlesville, the police chief will personally drive anyone who's had too much to drink back to their homes.
All you have to do is call dispatch to get a free ride from the chief, within city limits.
