The Cleveland Browns selected former University of Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft on Thursday night.

Earlier Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter had reported that there was mounting belief within teams and coaches around the league that Mayfield will be selected by the Cleveland Browns with the top pick.

The Browns also owned the No. 4 pick in the draft, with which they selected Ohio State cornerback Denzel Ward.
Mayfield won the Heisman Trophy for the Sooners during the 2017-18 college football season and led the team to the College Football Playoff.
