OKFUSKEE COUNTY, Okla. — A family left heartbroken.

According to a close relative, 57-year-old Tina Burleigh, and her son, 22-year-old Tim Rush were murdered and their home was set on fire Wednesday. Police arrested their long-time family friend Joshua Green on two counts of murder and arson.

“It was devastating because it doesn't even feel real, because like at 11:30 that night, I was just talking to her," said Gabrielle Lewis, the girlfriend of Tina's son and Timmy's brother, Nick.

Nick and Gabrielle were doing chores in a building right next to their home when it happened.

“I came out, and I see Nick dragging his brother out on fire, and the house is in flames," Gabrielle said.

The house is now in ruins. Gabrielle says they're devastated. She’s remembering Tina and Timmy for being caring, hard-working people.

“They were such good people," she said. "They would take in anybody, you know, that needed help and was willing to help themselves.”

Now, the family is left wondering what led to this and turn their focus to honoring their loved ones.

“Just everybody pray for them, you know," Gabrielle said. "That’s all we can do really.”

The family is now without a home and needs help paying for funeral costs. If you’d like to help out, you can donate to their GoFundMe account.
