TULSA -- The Department of Corrections has confirmed that Robert Bates is projected to be released from prison early.
Bates’ expected release date is set for mid-October. According to officials, the release is based on good credits and time served.
The former Tulsa County reserve deputy was sentenced to four years in prison after he said he mistook his handgun for his stun gun when he fatally shot an unarmed suspect.
