BEVERLY HILLS, Cali. — NBC and Dick Clark Production announced Wednesday that Garth Brooks is set to receive the ICON Award at the "2020 Billboard Music Awards."
Officials say only eight other artists have received the honor, and the 19-time Billboard Music Award winner, Brooks is also set to deliver a "highly anticipated performance."
Brooks remains the #1 selling solo artist in the history of the United States and is the first, and only, artist to have eight diamond-certified albums that each had over 10 million album sales.
The "2020 Billboard Music Awards" will air on April 29 at 8p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
Tickets for the event go on sale to the public on Friday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m.
