BIXBY, Okla. — A natural gas outage in a Bixby neighborhood is leaving people there without heat in this historic cold.
Oklahoma Natural Gas said the small housing edition overloaded the system. So, the company had to shut natural gas off to 20 homes.
Cherokee Ballard with Oklahoma Natural Gas said the high draw on the system this morning created low pressure on the gas lines.
It's a scary situation because we're experiencing dangerously cold temperatures.
"So, what we're asking folks to do now is to conserve their use of natural gas, and that way we can keep our communities safe and warm," Ballard said.
ONG is working on getting the customers affected back online Monday night, gas still was not back on by Tuesday morning.
