TULSA — The Fourth of July is worth celebrating because of the brave men and women who have continuously fought for and defended our freedoms.

On Thursday, war veterans were honored at Tulsa's Gathering Place in a special ceremony.

The vets also got a chance to talk about their time in the service, and answer questions from a local Boy Scout troop.

"It was really cool to meet with them and ask them some questions about their life, and why they served, and what that meant to them. It was really cool," said Ruskin Bell, a Boy Scout.

Veterans from World War II and the Korean and Vietnam Wars were recognized.
