The Tulsa Zoo announced the birth of a giraffe calf Monday.
The calf was born on Sunday at 4:43 p.m. to mom Lexi and dad Hekaya, the Tulsa Zoo said.
"The calf was active immediately and within two hours stood and began nursing," Zoological Curator of Mammals Jordan Piha said. "All of these are excellent signs in such a short period of time."
The Tulsa Zoo said the mom and soon-to-be-named baby are doing well.
