Legendary Hornets coach Nate Harris dies

TULSA — A tough couple days for everyone at Booker T. Washington as they deal with the passing of legendary basketball head coach Nate Harris.

Former Hornets coach Mike Mims, who was a friend of Harris', spoke to 2 Works for You about the impact Harris had on the school and community.

Harris was a BTW graduate and began his coaching career in 1982.

He coached the Hornets for 25 years and won 10 state championships.

Harris was inducted into the Tulsa Public Schools Hall of Fame two years ago.

Harris was 72.
